Victim Support Comes First

The Department of Defense (DoD) is committed to providing support and resources that are trauma-informed, responsive to need, appropriate to circumstances, and recovery-oriented to all who report sexual assault. SAPRO's policies and programs are intended to strengthen warfighter resilience and instill confidence and trust in the reporting process, whether they choose to file a Restricted or Unrestricted Report. DoD’s approach ensures that warfighters and others in the military community who have been affected by sexual assault receive the protections to which they are entitled, and support through an integrated network of care.

DoD law enforcement and legal personnel directly engaged in the detection, investigation or prosecution of crimes are responsible for ensuring that victims of military-related crime are accorded the following rights.

Professionals available to connect victims of sexual assault with advocacy, information, and resources.
07 CATCH
Catch a Serial Offender (CATCH)

With the Catch a Serial Offender (CATCH) program, you can anonymously submit information about the suspect to DoD criminal investigators.
08 Victim/Witness Assistance Program
VWAP

Once an investigation is initiated, a Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) Provider is available to assist sexual assault victims.
09 Report Retaliation
Report Retaliation

If you’ve witnessed or experienced retaliation following a report of sexual assault, you can share the allegations to SAPRO anonymously or with personal contact information using this form.

Tools for Commanders/SARCs

The SAPR Toolkit for Commanders and SARCs includes resources and tools to use when assisting victims of sexual assault plus all SAPR DD Forms.
